Mike is the owner of Hammer Away. He has been obsessed with optimizing body composition and sports performance for the better part of a decade. This stems from his rich athletic history participating in a variety of sports. Currently, he dedicates his time to improving as a competitive natural bodybuilder.
For the first half of his academic career, Mike earned an Associate of Science in Exercise Science and graduated with honors while working as a certified personal trainer. He then moved on to La Salle University where he completed a Bachelor of Science in Nutrition and graduated with a 4.0 GPA.
Following this degree, he completed a dietetic internship with a concentration in sports nutrition. As part of this opportunity, he spent 240 hours working at the University of Maryland alongside the dietitians for the football team and Olympic sports. He also gained experience working with a vast array of populations through his clinical and community rotations, including individuals with type 2 diabetes, cardiovascular disease, dyslipidemia, NAFLD, IBS, etc.
After passing his registered dietitian exam, Mike moved on to obtain the CISSN credential, which means he is a certified sports nutritionist from the International Society of Sports Nutrition.
Currently, Mike helps a diverse group of individuals achieve their health, body composition, and performance goals. While specializing in performance nutrition, he also utilizes weight-neutral approaches centered on intuitive eating, and individually-tailored medical nutrition therapy to treat certain medical conditions.
