Mario Landaverde Bio
Mario Landaverde is a Chef and Registered Dietitian Nutritionist, located in Manhattan NYC, a city he has called home for most of his life.
Mario started his journey on food and nutrition while working in the Restaurant and Hospitality industry, which he entered in his early twenties. This period in his professional life helped him to develop curiosity on the effects of food in people’s emotions and health; consequently, sparking an interest on food as medicine and functional food.
In 2011, Mario decided to pursue his interest further and enrolled in the CUNY BA for Unique and Interdisciplinary Studies Program where he had the freedom to create his own curriculum.
He tailored a program which combined Culinary Arts with Dietetics and Nutrition, thus obtaining a bachelor’s degree on the science of Food, Nutrition and Health.
In 2018, Mario got accepted to the Dietetic Internship at Lehman College, with focus in Medical Nutrition Therapy. Upon graduation, he promptly obtained his RDN credentials and is a licensed practitioner in the State of NY.
Mario’s dietetic practice is oriented towards integrative nutrition and food as medicine. His services concentrate on food allergies and intolerances that affect the digestive and metabolic system; offering his clients recommendations that include ingredient substitutions, gradual lifestyle changes and eating plans, based on the nutritional care process in clinical practice. Their success in obtaining optimal health and healing with integrative and functional nutrition, is Mario’s greatest joy in his practice.
