Dr. Leandro's path to becoming a functional nutrition expert took an unexpected turn when his spouse underwent quadruple bypass surgery. Witnessing the limitations of conventional "heart-healthy" diets sparked a deep curiosity about the true connection between food and health. This curiosity intensified after his own cancer diagnosis, a disease not present in his family history. He realized the significant role that environment and lifestyle play in chronic disease. Driven to help others, Dr. Leandro embarked on a nine-year journey, earning a Master's and Doctorate in Clinical Nutrition from the Maryland University of Integrative Health. He is a board-certified Clinical Nutrition Specialist and Ketogenic Nutrition Specialist. His practice focuses on empowering individuals to prevent cardiometabolic diseases through personalized nutrition and lifestyle interventions. Beyond his clinical work, Dr. Leandro is a world traveler passionate about history, art, and culture. He enjoys stimulating conversations, spending time with friends, and relaxing on warm, sandy beaches.
