As a Registered Dietitian, Candy has 30-years of work experience that includes 6 years of clinical dietetic experience at M.D. Anderson Cancer Center, 7 years experience as a dietitian on clinical research studies and 15 years of clinical work within the Duke Health System. Together with pediatric epileptologists, she helped establish ketogenic diet therapy as a treatment option at Duke Health in 2010. Since that time she continues to as educator, facilitator, and coach for families using ketogenic diet therapy.
