What Is the January Level Up Challenge?
The January Level Up Challenge is a simple, supportive way to build consistent food tracking habits while learning how your nutrition supports your daily life.
Starting January 1, you’re invited to take part in a month of consistent tracking designed to help you better understand your nutrient intake and how it connects to your goals. Whether your brand new to tracking or already comfortable with the data, this challenge meets you where you are.

Each day, your food logs become more than numbers. One day at a time, you’ll build nutrition knowledge, strengthen awareness, and move toward a more sustainable way of eating that can support your health now and for the rest of your journey.
Why Daily Tracking Matters
Every day you log builds awareness and deepens your understanding of your nutrition. Over time, those small consistent actions turn into insight, confidence, and habits that are easier to maintain.
As a thank you for showing up, each day you log earns you entries toward our grand prize: a bundle of science-backed tools valued at over $2,500 USD, designed to support your long-term health journey.
No perfection required. Curiosity, consistency, and learning are what matter most.
How to Enter
Opt-in
First things first, if you don’t already have a Cronometer account, get started here. You’ll then have the opportunity within the app to opt-in to participate in the challenge. By opting in, you ensure that your account will be considered for the Grand Prize draw.
Look out for an in-app message prompting you to join the challenge and click ‘Yes, I Accept’. Don’t see it? Try this:
- Check your Newsfeed. On mobile, tap Discover > the megaphone icon in the top right-hand corner > press and drag down to update your feed. On web, click the megaphone icon in the top right-hand corner from any page.
- Force close the app and open it again.
- Log out of and log back into the app.
- Send an email to support@cronometer.com.
Once opted-in, you’ll receive an in-app message, a message in your Newsfeed and an email (if subscribed) confirming that you’re in the food tracking challenge.
- Log your food in Cronometer during the challenge period
- Track consistently throughout January
- You will automatically receive entries for eligible days
That’s it. If you already use Cronometer, you’re ready to go.
You must log your food on at least 7 days in January to qualify for the Grand Prize, but the more you log, the better your chances!
- 7-13 days: one entry
- 14-20 days: two entries
- 21-29 days: three entries
- 30+ days: five entries

Want to boost your chances of winning? Earn bonus entries by staying engaged and sharing the challenge with others.
Photo Log Bonus
Use the Photo Logging feature in the Cronometer app to photo log a food and show your tracking progress.
Photo logging is a simple way to build awareness around your meals and visually reflect on your habits while earning an extra entry.
Social Share Bonus

Sharing the challenge helps build accountability and invites others to level up alongside you.
During the promotional period:

- Like the Bonus Entry promotional post
- Tag a friend in the comments you would like to do the challenge with
Instagram handles that complete the steps above will be added to the grand prize draw as bonus entries. Make sure your Instagram account is public so we can see your entry.
How Bonus Entry Winners Are Verified
If an Instagram handle is selected as the grand prize winner, we will ask the winner to verify the email address associated with their Cronometer account they used to complete the challenge in the app.
This helps us confirm eligibility and ensure prizes go to active challenge participants.
Bonus entries are optional, but they are a great way to stay motivated and increase your chances of winning.
