My name is Niha and I’m 23 years old. I genuinely cannot remember a time in my life when I wasn’t on a diet. I have tried every diet imaginable and while I found success on some, I would immediately gain all the weight back when I stopped following them. I tried to tell myself I was happier at my heavier weight but I knew I was kidding myself, the family would comment on my unhealthy eating habits, and I always felt tired and unfit.
I have tried countless calorie counters in the past and would always get in a very restrictive mindset, setting a goal of 1200 calories because that’s what the internet said we should all eat and making it my mission to eat as few of those 1200 calories as possible ending most days between 500-800. Definitely not enough for my body and my activity level.

What made Cronometer different for me was the nutrition tracking. I turned off my calorie view and would solely focus on tracking to ensure that I am meeting my daily nutrition goal. This allowed me to see how different foods, aka bagel bites vs a homemade egg and cheese bagel impacted my nutritional targets rather than just choosing the lower calorie option. I did this for 4 months and was seriously shocked by how much weight I had lost! All while being in a positive headspace!
I then reapproached the calorie aspect of the app and used it alongside the nutritional targets. This not only helped me reached my health goals but also kept my body nourished and my mind happy knowing I’m taking care of myself. Since starting in September 2019 with Cronometer, I have lost 30lbs, reached my weight goal and now I’m working on putting on more muscle mass.
